Abstract:

The current study aimed to identify the level of practice of teachers of the first grade of basic education  for teaching competencies (planning, implementation, evaluation) From their point of view, the researcher followed the  descriptive analytical approach, and the sample consisted of (112) teachers of the first grade in the educational complex  of Idlib city, distributed to them a questionnaire prepared by (Ghanem et al., 2022) after making the necessary adjustments to it, and the study showed a set of results, the most important of which are:

  • The ranking of teaching competencies of teachers of the first grade of basic education was as follows: “Adequacy of Planning” ranked first with a grade of (substantial), “Adequacy of Evaluation” came in second place with a grade of (substantial), and “Adequacy of Implementation” came in third place with a grade of (Large).
  • The (total degree) of the average of teaching competencies teachers of the first grade of basic education obtained a level of appreciation (substantial) from their point of view.
  • The absence of statistically significant differences in the level of practice of teaching competencies depending on the variable of scientific qualification and teaching experience.
  • In the light of the results, the researcher made many recommendations and suggestions, the most important of which are: Determine the number of pupils in the class (20) pupils maximum so that the teacher can carry out his lesson as planned.
