Abstract:

This summary of the research studies grammatical abbreviations until the end of the fifth century ah according to the following :

1 – Definitions of abbreviations ,language and idiomatic .

2 – Introduction to shortcut controls and conditions of the abbreviation that if not observed, will lose its value and usefulness .

3 – Collection of the abbreviations written in grammar until the fifth century AH . In the glossary and introducing them and their companions, starting with the oldest .

4 – Talking about the most important factors that led to development of grammatical abbreviations , such as lengthening in the writings of the ancients , the abundance of explanations ,confusion , poor arrangement fields and ambiguity in books of the ancients.

5 – Mention the most important grammatical abbreviations , some of which are specific , and some of them are general . Others were also written abbreviated by the author of another book , and soon , with an example of each type .

6 – The definitions of scientific and educational grammar , and talking about the features of each of them , with examples of both types from the books of the Arab heritage and the end of the research in conclusion , contained the most important results of the research , recommendations and suggestions.
