Abstract:

The aim of the current research is to know the relationship between directions

  towards reading and mind wandering among a sample of students of the College of Education at the University of Aleppo in the north Syria.

To achieve this goal, the researcher applied a questionnaire about directions towards reading from the study (Ghannam, 2021), and the scale of mind wandering prepared by (Carriere et al., 2013), according to the descriptive analytical approach, and the validity and reliability of all the applied tools were verified.

This research was applied to a stratified random sample consisting of (110) students of the Faculty of Education at the Free Aleppo University, with (44) male students and (66) female students. Statistically significant differences in directions towards reading, and in mind wandering due to the gender variable.
