Abstract

The current research aimed to assess the extent to which primary education teachers commit to the ethics of the teaching profession from the teachers’ own perspectives. The researcher employed a descriptive analytical method, with a sample consisting of 120 teachers from the primary education in the city of Dana. The research tool was a questionnaire prepared by the researcher, with necessary modifications made. The research yielded several key findings, including:

 – Teachers’ overall appreciation of the questionnaire’s domains related to the ethics of the teaching profession was high.

– No statistically significant differences were found in the level of commitment to teaching ethics based on variables such as academic qualification and years of experience.

In light of these findings, the researcher offered several recommendations and suggestions, including:

– Developing a code of ethics for the teaching profession and methods of its implementation to improve the educational process.

 – Organizing training courses and seminars on the educational ethics and the teaching profession to enhance commitment to these ethics.

– Awarding teachers who demonstrate a commitment to the teaching ethics and encouraging the embodiment of these ethical standards.
