Abstract:

This study examined the effect of using the recorder in teaching the recitation of the Holy Qur’an in the Islamic Education curriculum in the eighth-grade students during the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The researcher selected a sample from the second stage of primary education schools in the city of Al-Bab, including one male school. The sample comprised two groups: an experimental group and a control group, with the groups being randomly assigned. The experimental group took Quranic recitation lessons using the tape recorder, while the control group was taught using the traditional method. The sample consisted of 33 students in the experimental group and 32 students in the control group. A quasi-experimental design was employed in the research.

The results indicated that, after comparing pre-test and post-test scores, the experimental group outperformed the control group. The mean score of the experimental group (75.57) was higher than that of the control group (60.87) in all assessment criteria, showing an average superiority of 14.7 points. The data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical program, and the statistical treatments demonstrated that the use of the tape recorder had a statistically significant positive effect on the overall learning of recitation of the Holy Quran.
